Kindly vote for me !

Dear friends :

It is well established that a country's development is tightly linked with the development in the field of Science and Technology. Therefore, it is imperative that the country's commitment to science and technology development be explicitly mentioned in the to-be-drafted constitution of Nepal. For the achievement of this objective I want to represent you in the Constituent Assembly.

For last 30 years I have been teaching and conducting research, first in Tribhuvan University and then in Pokhara university, in subjects like Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology. I am serving you in the capacity of academician of Nepal Academy of Science and technology , director of 4 – year B. Sc. Biochemistry of Pokhara University and executive director of Research Laboratory for Biotechnology and Biochemistry (RLABB ).

My defeat in general elections of 2051 and 2056 has further consolidated my faith in the importance of honest and sincere politics in the country's development. I have become a candidate of Nepali Janata Dal in proportional system of the election for the constituent assembly. As a member of the constituent assembly I would try to achieve the following goals :

  1. Science and Technology Policy will be clearly highlighted in the constitution and a minimum of 1 % of GNP will be invested in this sector.
  2. Youths having higher education will be guaranteed of employment or unemployment benefit by the constitution.

My party Nepali Janata Dal is contesting direct election from 43 constitutions , out which 25 % are in hilly regions. This party follows the policy of tolerance, good will and respect.

I request you to kindly vote for my party by casting your ballot in the election symbol of WHEEL. Thank you.

Prof. Dr. Vishwanath P. Agrawal
